Postmodernism :
Author: Luca Conte

The years before the millennium have been affected by apocalyptic conceptions, the end of society, the end of the political and economic system, the end of ideologies, of arts, of social welfare, etc. Apocalyptic sentiments is basically what postmodernism is made of. Its existence is based, as it already implements, on the ending of an era which lasted for nearly a century, namely Modernism.

The shift from Modernism to Postmodernism may not be seen only as form of expression for artists and philosophers. Due to this approach of art and commerce, a fraternization between the system which at the beginning was likely to be critically analysed was pending, in order to activate this artistic principle as well in a socio-political way. A new segment of society was created with the evolving of post-modern flows in art.
